ABORT & TARAN
Both
were almost legendary bands from the late 80’s, that emerged in Varna...the
punk capital of Bulgaria during the 80’s. Both split with the coming of
democracy and nobody could provide more info than the usual street rumours. But
with this CD you will surprise of the wild and sudden punk attack hidden in the
first song of the one and only demo ABORT recorded ever. It represents them at
their punkiest and funniest period, probably around ‘89. Weirdly enough,
though they never got a proper popularity, people all over Bulgaria knew their
songs and sang them as street anthems. Often full with dirty words and
discussing topics like sex, alcohol and various forms of sexual / social
deviations, they did it in the funny, not offensive way and were truly amusing
to be seen live for the incredible stage show they did. This CD presents most of
their recorded songs. They had a tape released once that never got a proper
distribution.
TARAN on the other hand were more sophisticated punks, more like the classic ‘77 punks, not trying to be that shocking. They were mostly a studio band that got up once the idea to record something and they recorded 5 songs of catchy punk rock. They were released as a tape and sold few copies, getting some recognition and airplay in underground radio stations in the west. Soon after recording this in summer 1988 the band split up.
