NEW YORK AGAINST THE BELZEBU was
formed in 1994 by Nelson (drums/vocals), Marcos (vocals) and Wagner (guitar).
After several rehearsals Paulinho (bass guitar)join the band and the 7” EP
split with PURULENCE is recorded. After this recording Wagner leave the band,
entering Júnior in his place.In June
’95 Ana enter as third vocalist and the band record their first CD “Are
you ready for noise?” (’82 hardcore grind noise). In 1996 they record the
7” EP split with the Japanese band FINAL EXIT, which is released in Japan in
a limited edition of 1000 copies (first 50 copies sold in Brazil were
accompanied by a cal. 22/38 deflagrated capsule bullet).In April
’97 Murilo join the band replacing Paulo at the bass guitar. After Ana exit
in September ’97, the band record their demo “Tributo a Ana” with 63
songs and in April ’98 they released their second album, a true tribute to
NAPALM DEATH called “Stunt”, where the band, apart from executing all
songs from the “Scum” LP plus some bonus tracks, improve the concept of
the cover art and the pics by NAPALM DEATH even more.In 1999,
“Stunt” and “Tributo a Ana” were released in a same LP, besides a 7”
EP split together with the Brazilian band PARENTAL ADVISORY called
“CRUST’O’PHOBIA”, by the Agitate 96 label.This same
year, the third album by the band appears, “Batería e Baixaría”.In 2000
they released their fourth album “É O FIM ! 2.1”, in double CD format and
with 154 grind, crust and noise songs. Also this year, they released their
most recent work, “Bye Bye Pitta” in CD-R format, only edited in Bulgaria,
which includes a live show by the band as well as some un-released songs.Besides,
the band has participated in numerous compilations released around the world.The
sound of the band could be classified as grindcore or noise, dealing with
social topics, politics, ignorance, violence, injustice, etc. in their lyrics,
but always with a good sense of humour.
